15.04.2010 - FAB2ASM grant agreement signed in Valencia
Aalto University Docent Quan Zhou from the Department of Automation and Systems Technology, School of Science and Technology, has signed the first R&D grant agreement of a series of new FP7 Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) as a part of European Economic Recovery Plan. The new PPPs are EC funding programs for the period 2010-2013 with total budget of over three billion euros. The grant agreement was signed in a media event of the conference “The European Framework Programmes: From Economic Recovery to Sustainability”.
The signed grant agreement is for the FAB2ASM research project, which is coordinated by Aalto University and participated by eight partners from five different European countries. Total budget of the project is 7 million euros. FAB2ASM project aims at high throughput and highly accurate 3D integration of microsystem devices.
The media event took place on 13.04.2010 at the Valencia Conference Centre, Valencia, Spain. The contract was signed on stage in front of media and an estimated one thousand conference attendees at the end of the speech given by Mr. Rudolf Strohmeier, Deputy Director General Scientific Advances of DG Research, European Commission. Docent Quan Zhou cross signed the grant agreement with Mr. Herbert von Bose, Director of Industrial Technologies of DG Research, of European Commission.
