Master's Thesis Position: Multi-touch in education at the LUMA Resource Centre, Aalto University
LUMA Resource Centre aims to support and advance studies of mathematics, natural sciences and technology at all levels of school and to increase young people's interest in those areas. It offers high quality courses for students at upper secondary education. The courses for instance in mathematics, chemistry, geology and astronomy are taught by university teachers and professors.
LUMA employs the latest techniques in teaching, and is happy to announce an open master's thesis position which focuses large-sized multi-touch surfaces in education. The thesis work includes: - survey of related work (multi-touch and its use in education) - teacher interviews and familiarizing with current lab works - multi-touch platform and demo application development - and of course, writing the thesis
We appreciate the following skills: - programming experience (C# / Java or C++ preferred, HTML5 and JS is a bonus) - basic knowledge in human-computer interaction theory - basic knowledge in IP protocols - ability to work individually and in a small team
