Description: We are looking for a research assistant who is eager to research and develop novel technologies in micro- and nanomechatronic systems, especially micro- and nanorobotics, micro- and nanoassembly, and automation. The tasks involve theoretical analysis as well as practical implementation and testing. Specific task for the summer is related to the EU FP7 project FAB2ASM (http://www.fab2asm.eu/).
Good to know: Good knowledge of mathematics and physics.
Bonus: Good knowledge of mechanics, microelectronics, robotics, biology, material science, software engineering and programming skills, or any other science or engineering disciplines.
Description: We are looking for a talented person to design, develop and manufacture novel surface materials for microassembly. Combination of surface structure, material, chemistry and physics will be used to achieve specific surface properties.
Depending on the candidate, the job may include: modeling of surface and wetting phenomena using theoretical and computational methods; design and development of micro-/nanofabrication methods for functional materials; chemical methods for surface functionalization; carrying out microassembly experiments on the developed structures.
Prerequisites: General knowledge of physics and mathematics.
Good to know: Physics of wetting phenomena, surface chemistry.
Bonus: Previous experience in mathematical modeling of physical phenomena, microfabrication, wet lab work (chem / bio), microscopy, material science or any other science or engineering disciplines.
