FieldRobot 2017 - UniCorn

Robot UniCorn took part in Field Robot Event 2017 in Harper Adams University, UK, June 2017.

The robot was 3rd in Task 1, which was about basic navigation in maize rows, only doing one mistake during the drive. The robot was 1st in Task 2, in which robot had to do advanced navigation in the maize field, and the navigational accuracy was perfect. Task 3 was about mapping weeds (pink golf balls) and navigating intelligently in the field in order to avoid obstacles. The robot did not participate on this task, as the software was not ready. In Task 4 the goal was to spray the detected weeds based on map, or by re-detection. The robot did not start on this task neither, as the software was not ready and robot could not do the task in practice field. In Freestyle Task, the team demonstrated metal detector trailer, made by the team which was demonstrated to find scrap metal pieces and lost tractor parts - with this prototype, the team won 3rd prize in Freestyle task.
