The Ceilbot will eventually carry a manipulator, -or several manipulators, or exchangeable manipulators-, to carry out object manipulation tasks. Elephant's trunc-like manipulator is foreseen as one alternative due to flexibility and aesthetic impression it provides. Also control and construction of such device is of technological interest. (Refer to Ville Rahikka's report 'Trunk.pdf' from Fall 2009.) For the very first Ceilbot demonstration model a working trunc may not yet be available, but a volumetric model to present necessary degrees of freedom, size and aesthetic impression can be created. In addition to elephant's trunc-like manipulator also a scara-type manipulator may be found suitable for the Ceilbot.
